Loucasso the one to beat in The TAB Eureka

The TAB Eureka has a new favourite.

Loucasso made a stunning return to the track at Menangle on Saturday night, putting himself firmly in the spotlight ahead of the $1.5 million TAB Eureka on November 21.

The highly rated three-year-old had been eagerly awaited after an outstanding two-year-old season — and he didn't disappoint.

Loucasso took control of the race and powered to victory, finishing off with a sizzling 25.9-second final quarter to record a 1:49.5 mile rate.

And the most impressive part? He wasn't fully extended.

The performance has seen Loucasso emerge as the nominal favourite for The TAB Eureka, with plenty more to come before the big race.

His next few starts will give punters another chance to see just how good he is — but one thing is already clear.

Loucasso is back. And he's the horse everyone wants to beat.
