Manildra couple Owen and Ann Murray only go to the trots on special occasions.

Owen and Ann entered in the Western Jewel racebook competition when they attended Parkes’ New Year’s Eve meeting last year.

They were then put into the draw to win a two per cent share of the prizemoney won by the horse entered in the Western Jewel slot, retained by owners Wayne and Julie Loader.

The jigsaw is starting to come together.

And the inaugural $2.1mil TAB Eureka is shaping to be something special.

Last week’s inevitable confirmation Leap To Fame would race in the slot of his owners Kevin and Kay Seymour has justifiably heightened talk about the world’s richest harness race, to be run at Menangle over 2400m on September 2.

And what a sparkling return it was from Leap To Fame at Albion Park on Saturday night!

Leviathan Queensland owner Kevin Seymour's "horse of a lifetime" will race in his own slot in the world's richest harness race, the $2.1m TAB Eureka at Menangle on September 2.

Seymour excitedly confirmed he and wife, Kay, had locked in Leap To Fame for their slot just two days out from his return after a lengthy spell at Albion Park on Saturday night.

"It's fantastic to have him back and we've got so many big races to look forward to, including the inaugural TAB Eureka," Seymour said.

PRIZEMONEY for the inaugural The Hayden has soared to $231,000.

The huge hike for the race named after Queensland’s superstar cricketer Matthew Hayden came after some spirited bidding for slots in the race built a pool of $131,000. It will all be injected straight back into prize money for the July 15 feature at Albion Park.

The Hayden was created to find Racing Queensland’s slot runner for the world’s richest race, the inaugural $2.1 million TAB Eureka at Menangle on September 2.
