ONE of Australia’s most formidable rock bands, The Living End, will be the headline artist

performing at the world’s richest harness race, The TAB Eureka, on Saturday 6 September at

Club Menangle.

The third running of harness racing’s biggest event of the year will showcase Australia’s best

three and four-year-old Australian-bred pacers in an exhilarating 2300m Slot Race. The

Living End will add to the carnival atmosphere as Menangle reaches a height of activity.

“We can’t wait to head out to join in the fun at The Eureka Harness Race this September at

Club Menangle! It might be the world’s richest harness race, but you don’t have to be

cashed up to come on down, cos it’s free entry,” said lead singer Chris Cheney. The band will

perform some fan favourites prior to the feature race followed by an after the last

performance including tracks from their new album Only Trust Rock n Roll.

The Living End are an Australian rock band formed in 1994. Since 2002 the line up consists

of Chris Cheney, Scott Owen and Andy Strachan. The band rose to fame in 1997 after the

release of their double A-sided single, “Second Solution” / “Prisoner of Society”. They have

released eight studio albums and have had two No. 1 debuts on the Australian Albums Aria

Chart. They have also gained chart success in the United States and United Kingdom. Their

blistering live performances have earned the band an enviable position of one of Australia’s

greatest live bands.

Club Menangle Chief Executive Officer Bruce Christison said, “We are excited to host the

third edition of the world’s richest harness race, The TAB Eureka. Save the date for Saturday

6 September; with free general admission, and an exciting entertainment line up on and off

the track, The TAB Eureka promises to be the must attend event of the year. We look

forward to welcoming Chris, Scott and Andy from The Living End who will perform their

renowned hits on our trackside stage complementing the world-class harness racing.”

In addition to the racing action and The Living End performance, racegoers will also be

tempted by the tastes of the popular Aussie Night Markets street food vendors, encouraged

to dress to impress for the Style Stakes competition, and be entertained throughout the

night with a trackside DJ, carnival rides and roving entertainment. General Admission is free.

Hospitality experiences are available, offering an array of options to make the most of The

TAB Eureka experience. From fine dining at the Miracle Mile Restaurant to the lively Patrón

Lawn Marquee Party, there’s something to suit everyone’s taste.
